Prayer Chaplains
Our trained Prayer Chaplains are volunteers able to:
- Support others on their spiritual journey
- Create and hold sacred space
- Lovingly listen and hold what is heard in the strictest of confidence
- Pray with others
Our Prayer Chaplains are NOT:
- Ordained ministers
- Trained counselors
- Trained ministers
The purpose of the Prayer Chaplain program is to create a congregation that feels cared for and connected. It is based on God as our Source. God is the center, head, and heart of all we do.
Each Sunday, a Prayer Chaplain is available in the Sanctuary's Prayer Room, 15 minutes before and 15 minutes after the Sunday Service. The Prayer Chaplains acknowledge and calls on the presence of God, lovingly listens, prays from the heart, and holds in confidence what is shared. Then the Prayer Chaplain puts your name in the prayer box and continues in prayer for 30 days. Your prayer request is then sent to Silent Unity for an additional 30 days of prayer. All prayer requests are confidential.
Silent Unity is a special place people call to ask other people to pray with them. Children, as well as adults, may call anytime of the day or night. The number is 1-800-669-7729.
